8 Tips to Finish the Year Strong

Hello, Therapy Clean community! Can you believe we’re already nearing the end of 2024? It feels like just yesterday we were setting our intentions and dreaming big for what this year might bring. And here we are, with just a few months left! Time really does fly when you’re doing what you love.

As October rolls around, I find it’s a great time to pause, reflect, and refocus. With only four months left of the year, this is the perfect opportunity to correct our course and finish strong. At Therapy Clean, we’re all about living with intention—whether that’s through choosing to live a wellness-inspired lifestyle, or setting personal goals that foster growth.

Think back to last December, when you were likely cozied up with a warm drink, jotting down all the exciting things you hoped to achieve this year. Maybe you started off full of energy and determination. But let’s be honest—the journey often brings unexpected twists and turns, and we all face challenges that make us rethink our plans.

And that’s a wonderful thing! Changing course is not indecision, but a sign of growth. For me, September is just as important as December because it offers a chance to reflect, regroup, and finish strong.

I want to share some insights on how we can wrap up the year with a sense of accomplishment and purpose, choosing to nurture our best self, and lay the groundwork for an even better year ahead. Let’s explore how to end this year strong!

  1. Reflect on Your Progress

As an eternal optimist, I know how easy it is to get excited about new ideas and goals. I’m constantly inspired to create and innovate, but I’ve learned that it’s crucial to step back and reflect before you go off course and lose your way. Ask yourself: What goals did I set at the start of the year? How far have I come? Are these goals still relevant and exciting? If they no longer excite me, what’s changed? What new ideas are sparking my interest? What is driving these ideas? What’s my long term vision?

Reflection helps us understand how we've been channeling our creative energy and how to direct it moving forward.

  1. Stay Committed to Your Goals

As the year progresses, it's easy to lose steam or get distracted, but remember that consistency is key. Don’t be discouraged about changing course if you happen to have lost track of your goals. Simply start with small steps again, being gentle to yourself.

What small habit can you commit to over the next few months to keep moving forward? It doesn’t have to be big; sometimes, the smallest changes make the biggest difference. Starting now, rather than waiting for the new year, will move you leaps and bounds the months ahead.

Think of it like an airplane taking off: even a small adjustment in its flight path can lead to a significant difference in its final destination. Similarly, small, consistent actions can lead to big results over time.

  1. Lay Out Your Calendar

With your renewed goals in mind, the next step is to lay out your calendar for the rest of the year. Planning is key to making sure you have enough time to accomplish what you set out to do. Look at the months ahead and schedule time for both work and personal activities. Block out time for at least 5 key areas of your life: family, self-care, home care, work, and activities that recharge you.

By organizing your calendar now, you can ensure that you have a clear plan for reaching your goals without feeling overwhelmed. It’s about creating a balanced schedule that supports both productivity and well-being.

  1. Dive into your finances

Review your budget and spending habits over the past months. Are there any bad habits that need correcting? Are there areas where you could cut back or redirect funds toward something more meaningful or aligned with your goals?

Most people don’t do this often enough. Understanding your financial situation is essential for planning ahead and correcting your habits if needed. It helps you make informed decisions and set financial goals for the coming year, ensuring you’re on track to meet your long-term objectives.

  1. Deep Clean and Declutter

One of the most powerful ways to reset your mindset is to refresh your surroundings. I am a strong believer that a clean home means a clear mind. A deep clean can do wonders not just for proactively keeping up with your home maintenance, but for your spirit as well. Be mindful of the cleaning products you bring into your home. Stick with plant-based options with naturally-derived fragrances like Therapy Clean.

There’s something incredibly therapeutic about clearing away the clutter and letting your space breathe.

Take some time to clean and declutter every room of your home. Focus on those areas that often get overlooked—like the inside of cabinets, windowsills, or behind appliances. Not only will your home look and feel better, but you’ll also be removing dust, allergens, and toxins that can affect your health and well-being. Remember to break it down into small tasks so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Here is a cleaning checklist that can help you break down your cleaning tasks into achievable steps.

  1. Feng Shui your home for optimal energy flow

Once your home is clean and decluttered, consider using feng shui principles to optimize the energy flow in your space. Feng shui is all about arranging your environment to promote balance, harmony, and positive energy. Look at each room and think about how you can enhance the flow of energy. Maybe it’s rearranging furniture, adding plants, or using specific colors.

A home that feels balanced and harmonious can have a profound impact on your mood and well-being, helping you feel more grounded and focused and even promote prosperity and health as you move into the new year.

  1. Meal and exercise plan

As you go through your mini makeover in September, think about your health and wellness too. Now is a great time to plan a new exercise and diet routine that supports your energy and well-being. Consider what activities you enjoy and what types of food make you feel your best. Think of ways to integrate exercise and meal planning in your schedule. Commit to making small changes every day, such as getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water.

Creating a routine that nourishes your body and mind will help you feel more energized and ready to take on new challenges. Remember, it’s about finding a balance that works for you and supports your overall health.

  1. Invest in your personal growth

Finally, as we wrap up the year, it’s also a great time to foster your personal and professional growth. What skills have you wanted to develop? What new knowledge could benefit you in the future? Are there any podcasts, books, or online courses you could take? Choose one area to focus on and set a plan for learning. I love listening to podcasts while I fold my clothes. This makes a mundane task really enjoyable, and I love how my clothes look so organized.

Create your own personal morning routine. Perhaps it requires you to start an hour earlier and get in a 10 minute gratitude journal or meditation session, followed by stretching and exercise. Perhaps it includes drinking 12 ounces of water before you even get out of bed, to help get your brain nice and plump and ready to tackle the day.

Investing in yourself is one of the best ways to prepare for a successful new year.

Looking Ahead

I hope you’re feeling inspired to make these last months of 2024 truly count. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about progress. Take this time to reflect, refocus, put some pen on paper and reignite your passion.

Thank you for being part of the Therapy Clean community, let’s finish the year strong!
